How Nepal VAT is calculated
For a standard-rated taxable supply, add 13% VAT to the amount before VAT. To estimate the VAT inside an inclusive total, divide the total by 1.13 and subtract the result from the total.
Add VAT
Net amount × 1.13 = total including VAT
Remove VAT
Gross amount ÷ 1.13 = amount before VAT
Important Nepal VAT limitations
Inland Revenue Department VAT-law materials support the 13% standard estimate, but supplies may be exempt or zero-rated. This calculator does not determine supply classification, registration, input-tax credit or filing obligations.
Use the result as a planning estimate and verify the applicable treatment with the Inland Revenue Department VAT Act materials before issuing an invoice or filing a return.
